Over 2,000 residents have signed a petition to keep Whitley Bay’s only cafe on the the beach… but the wishes of a large number of Whitley Bay Folf appears to have fallen on deaf ears. Bizarely, North Tynesides Mayor has promised has rather disingenuousley promised ‘Vigorous Consultation’ over the Foreshore re development… that is after she has demolished this cafe WITHOUT ANY CONSULTATION of the electorate. Interestingly enough, this decision was made to demolish a week after it asked for expressions of interest in the old delpronisesoWhtiley Bay has had a cafe on Watts Slope in Whitley Brelict building ‘The Spanish City’ once an amusement park.
