Whitley Bay could be losing the Boardwalk Cafe. North Tyneside Mayor hears the petition to save the famous Boardwalk Cafe being demolished in November 2014. Whitley Bay has had a cafe on Watts Slope in Whitley Bay for the past 149 years with unrivalled views of the famous Whitley Bay Beaches. North Tyneside Council who have spent millions over the last 20 year with the promise of finally refurbishing the famous Spanish City building, claims that the Boardwalk cafe is to be demolished to improve the view. What an insult, the view from this famous cafe in Whitley Bay is arguably one if the finest views on the North East Coast, of St Mary’s Lighthouse and wonderful beaches.
Instead of North Tyneside Council wasting even more money on the crumbling Spanish CIty, what finer inspirational building could you have for an artists colony? A Yoga Retreat? A Yoga and Health Food Centre.
